The Barbara Jordan Institute for Policy Research (BJI) is a university-wide institute dedicated to research that focuses on finding solutions to the many public policy challenges facing communities at the local, regional, national and global levels.

The Barbara Jordan Institute for Policy Research and Survey Center is a non-partisan and an unbias institution dedicated to research that focuses on finding solutions to the many public policy challenges facing urban communities at the local, regional, national and global scales of governance. The Barbara Jordan Policy Research and Survey Center is committed to advancing scholarly inquiry and fostering solutions to urban challenges through interdisciplinary research and community engagement. As part of Texas Southern University, our work reflects TSU’s dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and service.
Mickey Leland Center
The mission of the Mickey Leland Center on Hunger, Poverty and World Peace at Texas Southern University is to serve as a state and national resource for information on the problems of global hunger and peace. Most recently this mission has been expanded from The Mickey Leland Center.
Forensic Science Learning Lab
The Forensic Science Learning Lab (FSLL) provides specialized forensic science education and training to Texas Southern University students and supports continuing education for practicing forensic professionals. The Lab is led by Dr. Ashraf Mozayani, Professor and Executive Director, and contributes to TSU's research mission through scholarship, international collaboration, and public-engagement work.
