TSU University Counseling Center – Comprehensive Mental Health Services

The University Counseling Center (UCC) at Texas Southern University offers confidential counseling services to support students’ mental health, personal growth, and academic success. Our professional team provides individual, couple, family, and group counseling, addressing challenges like stress, depression, crisis intervention, and grief support.

Students can also access workshops and outreach programs focused on stress management, academic success, and healthy relationships, as well as consultation services for faculty, staff, and concerned individuals. The UCC is committed to inclusivity, wellness, and empowerment, offering training opportunities for practicum and internship students.

Personal Counseling

College can be exciting, but it also comes with challenges. If you’re feeling stressed, lonely, overwhelmed, or unsure how to cope, our counselors are here to help. Talking with a counselor can provide support, new perspectives, and strategies for navigating life’s ups and downs.

Couple and Family Counseling

Relationships can be complicated, and sometimes it helps to talk things through together. We provide counseling for couples and families (regardless of marital status or sexual orientation) as long as one partner is a current TSU student. If scheduling during regular hours is difficult, we’ll help connect you with trusted community providers.

  • Anger management
  • Healthy relationships
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Suicide awareness & prevention
  • Thinking errors / mindset shifts

Groups typically include at least three students.
